In his first Christmas remarks to thousands gathered in St Peter’s Square, Pope Leo has made a heartfelt appeal for peace around the world. The pontiff delivered his message from Vatican City during the highly anticipated Urbi et Orbi address, held annually on Christmas Day.

During his speech, Pope Leo appealed for the world to seek, “justice, peace and stability for Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, and Syria.” The Pope specifically addressed ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as unrest in Thailand and Cambodia.

“From God, let us ask for justice, peace and stability for Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Syria,” the Pope proclaimed, highlighting his wish for healing and reconciliation in these troubled regions.
